Working on development experience tools as Principal Product Designer at Acme Co.

ST. APE, a Dutch contemporary brand for men and women with an exciting range of luxury leather, denim and ready-to-wear products. Crafted with obsessive detail, the collections are a passionate combination of style, quality and fit, resulting in a brand that promotes storytelling and genuine customer contact that goes beyond expectations.

High standards on-demand, consistent quality across products and a never-ending strive for the best, that’s the ethos of ST. APE.

Slack is primarily designed for team communication in channels. Channels are where work happens: It’s where teams exchange ideas, get feedback, and share files. It’s a constant stream of conversation that keeps everyone on the same page.

But plenty of important information in Slack exists in formats other than messages. Think about how often you find yourself opening a doc or PDF or a spreadsheet to get your job done. The ability to quickly cross-reference information in files to resolve issues, answer a question or make a group decision is key to making communication in Slack.

And yet, the fact that most information in Slack is recorded chronologically makes it highly susceptible to the flow of channel conversations. The most recent message ends up feeling like the most important one, even if documents you shared a few hours (or days!) ago are still relevant. Searching for a file in Slack is possible, but success depends on being able to recall information about that file — where it was shared, or by whom. We wanted to build a better way for users to access information once it was uploaded to Slack.

While working at Acme Co I worked with Retail Partners on the digital design, physical design and fit-out of a brand new retail store in New York. Responsibilities included brand design, art direction, photography, spacial planning and product design.

I had the opportunity to art direct a new campaign for Study in material – an experimental furniture brand. Bespoke pieces for work and living.

Recently I've just completed my first Framer Sites template. It's called 'Supernormal' and it's suited to designers, photographers, art directors, writers and illustrators. Perfect for that mix of a curated portfolio and blog. Responsive design, mobile and tablet friendly as standard.

If you haven't looked into Framer Sites yet, check it out – it's a fantastic platform to create a website. Everything is so fast and responsive (it's powering this site you are viewing right now).

Check it out here, and it's available to purchase for $29.
